Sunstain unleash new single „Prometheus“

We’ve been busy cooking up new material, and with Sandro Peterstorfer now behind the kit, we’re offering a first taste of where our next chapter might be headed. „Prometheus“ stands out from our earlier releases with its relentlessly driving tempo and a runtime of just three and a half minutes — think 90s skate-video soundtrack rather than a fifteen-minute psychedelic trip.

The itch for this change of pace was sparked back in 2024 at a FU MANCHU show we caught at Vienna’s Arena. Our motto was simple: no frills, full throttle — and the new single came together in no time out of the next jam session that followed. Despite the name, the track isn’t inspired by the sci-fi film from the Alien franchise, but by the figure from Greek mythology who gave fire to humankind and was chained up by Zeus as punishment. Our song is about that punishment — or rather, about knowingly accepting the consequences of your own stubborn convictions and passion. There’s no room for reason here, though its voice briefly slips through in the chorus.

We’ve already made this track the fixed, final blowout of every SUNSTAIN show for about a year and a half — and as of now, it’s finally available on your streaming platform of choice too, not just in our sweaty circle pits.
